I received this in an email today, so I'm sharing it with all of you who don't know about this:


Calgary, Alberta -- In Celebration of the Holiday season, the Western Hockey League has announced some exciting news that will benefit hockey fans from Vancouver Island to western Manitoba.

Beginning Thursday, December 28th and running through this Saturday's games, fans will be able to enjoy exciting WHL action on the Web Free!

As well, the league has introduced Half-Season Pricing for the balance of the 2006-07 regular season.

Among the fans that will have the opportunity to see their favorite teams in action will be those from western Manitoba as the Eastern Division leading Wheat Kings will close out the 2006 calendar year with back to back road games on Friday and Saturday nights, December 29th and 30th, in Red Deer and Calgary respectively.

The coverage begins Thursday night with Calgary hosting Medicine Hat, Spokane travelling to Prince George to meet the Cougars, Lethbridge entertaining the Kootenay Ice, Tri-City at Portland and the defending champion Vancouver Giants taking on the visiting Kamloops Blazers.

Regular Single game passes for the 2006-07 campaign are $6.95. This exciting offer has been made possible through the generous support of the league's two premier partners - Kal Tire and Meyers Norris Penny - as well as INSINC.

In making the announcement, the league has also announced that Special Half Season Rates for WHL Web TV will take effect on New Years Day, January 1st. Among the games on tap that day - Brandon in Regina to meet the Pats.

Wheat Kings' Season Ticket holders can purchase the Half Season Package, which will include access to all of Brandon's road games for the special price of $57.95. For those fans wanting access to all live and archived games during the second half of the regular season they will pay just $149.95. The regular price for this year's Season Pass was $289.95 or $89.95 (Season Ticket holders only).
