Toronto - The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Reid Jorgensen of the Kamloops Blazers is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday December 31 after scoring five goals and eight points in three games.

The 20-year-old from White Rock, BC opened the week by scoring a goal and an assist and adding a shootout goal to help the Blazers to a 4-3 win over the Vancouver Giants on December 28. He was named second star of the game. The Blazers' captain scored two goals - including the overtime winner - and an assist and was the first star in a 5-4 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors on December 29 and finished the week with another first-star effort, scoring two goals - including the game winner - and an assist in a 6-1 win over the Prince George Cougars in December 30.

The fifth-year centre has 24 goals and 40 points in 38 games this season.

Bobby Ryan of the Owen Sound Attack was the OHL nominee after scoring three goals and eight points in two games and Francois Bouchard of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar was the QMJHL nominee after scoring two goals and nine points in three games.
