Rakos Finishes World Junior Tournament
JAN 4 - 19-year-old Broncos forward Daniel Rakos helped the Czech Republic to a 6-2 win today over Finland in their final game of the World Junior Hockey Championships today in Sweden. The victory lifted the Czech Republic to a 5th place finish at the event.


Rakos appeared in all 6 Czech Republic games where he recorded 4 penalty minutes and 2 shots on goal but was held off of the score sheet. He was 1 of 5 players from the Western Hockey League on the team, joining Martin Hanzal (RD), Lukas Vantuch (LETH), Tomas Kudelka (LETH), and Michal Repik (VAN).

Rakos will miss a total of 8 games, including this weekend’s home and home series with Regina, while representing his country. The 2nd year Broncos forward is currently tied for 3rd in team goal scoring with 10 and is 6th in points with 19. Rakos will return to Swift Current on Monday and will be back in the lineup for the team’s weekend game on January 12th in Lethbridge.
