Very good game tonight, on a night when the Giants were good but the Blazers were that much better and skated away with a 3-2 win.
Kamloops has climbed within three points of the Giants and remain undefeated against Vancouver this season.
Kamloops opened the scoring in the first period with a powerplay goal from Jorgensen,his 26 from Macias, Rohac, the home team then went up 2-0 in the second with a shorthanded goal from Shattock, (4) Jorgensen getting the assist. Kamloops was not done yet going up 3-0 with another powerplay goal from Jorgensen, (27)Bartley, Macias getting the assists,
Vancouver came back in the third with a powerplay goal of there own from Bouma, they then scored a fluke goal a by Festerling, (4) to make the game interesting. but in the end lack of disapline by the Giants would cost them any chance of a come back.
The Blazers did a great job tonight of holding the Giants to 21 shots, with most of those from the outside. The home team checked hard, and won the many battles along the boards.
One fight in the game with Bender and Lucic going at it, I would say it was a draw maybe slight edge to Lucic.
The Refs tonight were Rehman and a guy from the QMJHL some questionable calls, could have called a lot more againts the Giants for diving, Neufelds dive in the first period would have won an Olympic gold medal.
Although the Giants lead the division Kamloops has now past them in the win column with 28 wins to the Giants 27.
