The WHEAT KINGS will be hoping to close out a 4-game Western Hockey
League homestand on a winning note Friday night when they put their season
high 9-game winning streak on the line against the visiting REGINA
PATS.BRANDON is a perfect 3-0 on this current homestand after wins over
PRINCE ALBERT (6-1 Saturday), MOOSE JAW (7-3 Sunday) and REGINA (7-3
Wednesday.In Wednesday's game at Winnipeg's MTS Centre, the WHEAT KINGS
scored four unanswered second period goals en route to the win in game one
of a 3-game series this week against the PATS.REGINA hosts the WHEAT
KINGS on Sunday afternoon.RYAN STONE, TIM KONSORADA and ERIC FEHR, with
his league leading 47th and 48th goals of the season led the winners
with two goals each while 17-year old CODEY BURKI added a single as the
WHEAT KINGS improved their record to 35-19-5-1, good for 76 points and a
share of top spot in the WHL's Eastern Division with the SASKATOON
BLADES, who dumped SWIFT CURRENT 3-1 on Wednesday.As for the Conference,
BRANDON is tied for second place, three points behind the Central
Division leading LETHBRIDGE HURRICANES.The WHEAT KINGS, who have scored 38
goals in their last six games and 48 during their 9-game win streak, have
replaced SASKATOON in the CHL's MASTERCARD TOP TEN RANKINGS, becoming
one of five WHL clubs on the list including KOOTENAY, KELOWNA, MEDICINE
HAT and SATTLE.Winners of eleven of their last 12 games, the WHEATS are
21-7-1-1 at home.a perfect 3-0-0 in games played at the MTS Centre in
Winnipeg.they're 14-12-4 on the road and 9-1-0 in their last ten
games.Next home game for the WHEATS is Wednesday night - RAIN CHECK NIGHT -
when they complete a home and home series with the SASKATOON BLADES.

STONE NAMED CHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: RYAN STONE has been chosen the
Canadian Hockey League's Player of the Week.The PITTSBURGH PENGUINS' second
round draft choice had six goals and 12 points in four games last
week.STONE is currently second in WHL scoring with 29 goals and 82 points
and takes an 8-game point scoring streak into Friday's game.STONE is
11-11-22 during that stretch.

WHO ELSE IS HOT? ERIC FEHR currently leads the league in scoring with
88 points including a WHL high 48 goals after Wednesday's 5-point
performance. FEHR has managed a point in 15 of his last 16 games (9-19-28)
to move six points up on teammate RYAN STONE.The last WHEAT KING to win
the WHL scoring crown was RAY FERRARO in '83-84.The last WHEAT KING to
score back to back 50-goal seasons was KELLY GLOWA during the early
eighties.TIM KONSORADA is currently riding a 12-game point scoring streak
(8-9-17).CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS' second round draft choice JAKUB SINDEL has
eight goals - including two game winners - in his last eleven games.
SINDEL is 11-8-19 in 23 games.STEVEN LATER is third in scoring among
defenceman with 49 points.17-year old RYAN REAVES had his 5-game point
scoring streak (2-5-7) snapped against REGINA on Wednesday.During his last
seven starts, netminder TYLER PLANTE has compiled a 7-0 record, a 1.85
goals against average and a .930 save percentage.

CAPTAIN REACHES MILESTONE: TIM KONSORADA joined some pretty select
company on Wednesday, becoming only the seventh player in franchise history
to play in 300 career games.The COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS' draft choice
joins LANCE MONYCH, RANDY PONTE, RYAN CRAIG, DALE MCMULLIN, AARON GOLDADE
and current assistant coach DWAYNE GYLYWOYCHUK.

OTHER MILESTONES: Defenceman MARK LOUIS scored his first ever WHL goal
on Sunday vs. MOOSE JAW.Rookie netminder TYLER PLANTE chalked up his
fourth shutout of the season last Wednesday in PRINCE ALBERT, moving him
into a tie for fourth place with JOMAR CRUZ for the club's all time
list. It also moves him to within one of the franchise single season
record, set by former PAT JOSH HARDING during the 2003-04 campaign.16-year
old blueliner CHAD ERB was recalled from the PEMBINA VALLEY HAWKS for
Wednesday's game in Winnipeg and made his Western League debut.

DAY SET TO MAKE BRANDON DEBUT: Veteran defenceman RILEY DAY, obtained
from the MEDICINE HAT TIGERS in early January in exchange for 17-year
old KEVIN UNDERSHUTE and a draft choice is poised to make his Keystone
Centre debut tonight.The 19-year old Brandon product, who had been out
since November with a lacerated kidney, made his WHEAT KING debut in
Winnipeg on Wednesday.

BRANDON BITS: BRANDON has a league best 8-1-5 overtime record this
season. The eight wins ties a club record and is one shy of the WHL
record.The WHEAT KINGS' powerplay, which went 3-5 on Wednesday, leads the
league at 23.8%.ERIC FEHR leads the WHL with 26 powerplay markers.Penalty
killing, the WHEATS are 11th (83.7%).Defenceman JON WEBB serves the
sixth and final game of his WHL suspension tonight. He's eligible to return
on Sunday in REGINA.BRANDON is currently averaging 3,300 fans per home
game this season, which represents a 7% increase over the same number
of games last year.

Hopefully we will do you a favour and we will beat Saskatoon,and maybe in both games and then you can beat Regina and claim sole possesion of first and that way we can play the Blades in playoffs.We don't want to play your team.Too much talent for us to knock you off.
