Reekie Named ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week

Toronto - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that David Reekie of the Everett Silvertips is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week after posting a 3-1-0-0 record along with a 0.50 goals against average and .974 save percentage in four games.

Reekie, a 19-year-old from Saskatoon, started the week with a 17-save shutout in a 3-0 win over the Red Deer Rebels on January 3. He made 19 saves in a 1-0 loss to the Spokane Chiefs on January 5, then stopped 21 shots in a

3-1 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers on January 6 and finished the week with an 18-save shutout in a 6-0 win over the Portland Winter Hawks on January 7.

Michael Neuvirth of the Plymouth Whalers was the OHL nominee after posting a 2-1-0 record with a .956 save percentage and two shutouts while Jean-Philippe Levasseur of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies was the QMJHL nominee after winning all three of his starts last week and allowing a 1.30 goals against average and .951 save percentage.

Each week the CHL recognizes the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week and will present the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Year Award to the CHL's top netminder at the conclusion of the 2006-07 season.
