"A source close to the Bronco's" reports that Robertson Implement's and Remm Manufacturing are pulling their sponsorship money from the Bronco's because they are against having beer served in the stands.
I wonder if they are against selling machinery to people who have a drink in the stands. I have nothing against people who don't drink but to try and throw their weight around to keep other people from having that privilege is pretty shameful in my opinion.
How does everyone else feel about this?

I don't drink myself and I'm not against anyone who decides to drink at a game. BUT there should be limits implemented at all the rinks. I was unfortunately on the receiving end of a couple intoxicated jerks at an opposition's rink last time I was there. Needless to say I won't be back lol

I don't drink myself, at all. But the Bronco office did phone and ask if we were opposed to drinks in the stands(we are a team sponsor)and we said it didn't bother us at all. What's the big deal, someone gets out of hand you politely escort them to the door. I can't see it being a big deal. We need to bring some younger people to the crowds and i think that if they were allowed to have a beverage or two, watch the game and then go out to the Shack, we should do that. :thumb:

I think Rem and Robertson Imp. had given the Bronco's plenty of warning and their thoughts on drinking at Bronco games. In a way i can see their point. I don't drink so they won't make money off me. My concern is will some fans take it to extreme and get retarded. I been to football games where the fans behind us were drunk and every second word had the f word in it. Not a good enviroment for a family with little kids. I used to get upset when i kept hearing the f word out of those bozo's mouths.

As for escorting them out! Who will do it? Ghost security will need help. I only see them going after little kids never the adults. And can they handle it? I doubt it. Security will have to increase alot if alot of fans get plastered. If it is done in a classy fashion by the drinker then no problem. But if it is so they can get plastered where they can't even walk and every second word is the f word, then i have a problem. Should be interesting to see the effect.

I rarely drink either, but I am glad that I will have the option. I think that the board knows that they will have to keep control of things in order for this to go over and it is not like people will be getting too plastered as the price won't really be in their favor. One reason that I heard from one of the sponsors (that may pull out) is that they didn't want beer spilled on thier kids, in my opinion (and I have kids that go to the games) if they are concerned about that then have your kids sit with you in your own section where you can keep an eye on them. I think in the future (next season) they will try and make sections to accomodate everyone so it shouldn't be that big of a deal. Every other whl arena (to my knowledge) has drinking in the stands so why should we be so differnt, beer sales result in revenue and we need revenue to keep our BRONCO'S here for many years to come. I am also sure that we could get other sponsors that would be more than happy to contribute to our community. :bounce:

I am surprised at Robertsons but not Rem.

What I am surprised is that we've had beer sales at the rink for years. What's the big deal now when you can actually watch the game at the same time?? I see no difference between beer in the Canadian room and beer in the rink seating. Personnally I go to see the game, not drink beer. If I want a night out having a beer I'll go to Caddy Shack or Dooley's or such.

That is Swift Current's mentallity to many STUPID people thinking that alcohol is a bad thing. Lets see, Red Deer makes tons of money with their beer sales, Moose Jaw yup, med hat, yup, lethbridge, yup. Robertson imp and REM give your head a shake and get with the program whoever made those decisions good on ya great support for the local team. I hope the Bronco organization still sells beer in the stands and make a killing doing it by sales and bringing in the young folk. When the Broncos prosper and those two companies want back in DON"T LET THEM. Good bye Robertson IMP and REMM for NOT supporting this team. We got to remeber we will lose our team if things are not changed at the CCC so go broncos go and hopefully many more buisnesses will come forth and support this team.

I don't farm so they won't make money from me either. Is that a reason for them not sponsoring the team as well? Whether one drinks has nothing to do with their product, just their philosophy.
