ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter the 18th week of the 2006-2007 season with a 30-10-2-2 record (18-4-0-0 at home, 12-6-2-2 on the road, 2-2 in overtime, 1-2 in shootouts) and are in second place in the CENTRAL DIVISION and tied for fourth overall in the WHL with the KAMLOOPS BLAZERS…KOOTENAY, who is tied with KAMLOOPS for the most goals per game in the League with 3.77, has won a season high eight games in a row (December 28 - January 14) and have points in their last 11 games…This week the ICE will travel to CALGARY (January 16th) then return home to host KAMLOOPS (January 19th) before traveling to RED DEER (January 20th) and MEDICINE HAT (January 21st).

MASCOT SOCCER: On January 19th when KOOTENAY hosts the KAMLOOPS BLAZERS you will have the opportunity to see local mascots battle it out on the ice in a friendly game of soccer.

GO RVING NIGHT: When the ICE host the RED DEER REBELS on January 24th you will have the opportunity to win a toque to keep your ears warm this winter…GO RVING with also have postcards for you at the end of the game.

DID YOU KNOW: KOOTENAY tied a franchise record January 14th against VANCOUVER for most consecutive home wins with nine (November 26 - January 14 - the previous record of nine was set from November 27, 1998 to January 8, 1999)…The ICE and MEDICINE HAT lead the League with players who have scored ten or more goals (nine a piece)…TAYLOR DAKERS recorded his fourth shutout in his last ten games against the GIANTS (31 saves)….DAKERS, who has tied the franchise record for the most career shutouts at 17 (JEFF GLASS – 2002 -2005) on January 14th against VANCOUVER, is second in the WHL in save percentage (.925)…Defenseman JOHN NEGRIN is in QUEBEC CITY attending the 2007 CHL/NHL Top Prospects GAME to be played January 17th…MIKE BUSTO, who played in his 300th WHL game January 6th against SPOKANE is tied for fourth in the League for scoring by Defensemen with 37 points…STEVE DASILVA recorded his first career hat trick January 6th against the CHIEFS and is tied for fourth in League scoring with 55 points…CURTIS BILLSTEN played in his 250th WHL game January 13th against CALGARY…CHAD GREENAN played in his 150th WHL game January 6th against SPOKANE…LUKAS BOHUNICKY played in his 100th game January 9th against RED DEER…PAUL KURCEBA is three games away from playing 100 with KOOTENAY.

INJURY: Forward BEN MAXWELL will be out of the ICE line-up indefinitely with an elbow injury.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 44 games of the 2005-2006 season the ICE were 30-12-0-2, after 45 games 31-12-0-2 and after 46 games 32-12-0-2.
