Huge start by the Ice to the game going up 3 - 0 before the Hat reeled them in tying the game up in the second period. Two refs for this game seemed to be calling alot of little stuff and gave Dakars a delay of the game penalty which generally gets a warning first....three goals on the PP for Medicine Hat,

Ice got out front again only to have the game tied once again in the third period on a break away after an Ice chance. Game is currently up for grabs with the season series tied at 2 - 2 with a final game in the Hat to finish the season. Tigers get another PP goal (4/7) with 15 minutes or so to go in the game and are in the lead for the first time in the game, 5 - 4. After a couple of penalties to Medicine Hat the Ice socred a PP goal (3/11) tying the game at 5's and just over 9 minutes to go. Well more penalties to finish out the period, but neither team took advantage.

OT, Ice are starting to pick it up again in OT, with one point assured for both teams. This is going to come down to a SO. Neither goalie has stood on their head, so this is anyones game still. Really the refs should be cleaning the ice, as it has been their game to this point, they may as well take the full credit.

Ice.......X X (*) denotes a goal, (X) denotes a miss

Tigers win the game with two straight goals and the Ice came up empty. Not a way for the Ice to catch them in the standings, but at least the Ice salvaged a point to stay within striking distance.

This is a good test for both teams having the two refs, as that will be the playoff format, but I have to agree with the commentation as it seems to be taking away from the game on the ice. Having more than two thirds of the entire game with someone in the penalty box, just doesn't cater to allowing the teams to win the game in their own right.

Good news for the Ice is that they started scoring again against a team that is stingy with a very solid defensive core.

Kootenay broadcaster mentioned that the director of officiating was in the house, so maybe that had an influence on the refs calling a lot of penalties.

That final game of the season could very well determine 1st and second place. Wouldn't that be exciting?

Nice recap btw!

Thanks and congratulations on the 'W', I just wish someone who was around would post some of their views.
