Having picked up 3 out of a possible 4 points on the road earlier in the week, the Blades returned home last night to play the Red Deer Rebels. With the Rebels having won the previous two meetings this season against the Blades, and with the Blades trying to make up ground in the hunt for the last playoff spot in the East Division, 2 very important points were up for stake at the CUC. Wearing special edition Camouflage jerseys, the Blades did their best to duck the Red Deer attack through the opening frame, as both teams skated to a scoreless draw after 20 minutes. Red Deer finally opened the scoring at 8:54 of the second when Dustin Moore scored on the power-play for the Rebels. Colton Gillies (9th) tied the game at 1-1 five minutes later, but Red Deer restored their lead before the end of the second when Brandon Sutter scored while the Rebels were on a 5-3 man advantage. Red Deer added 2 more goals in the 3rd period, including an empty netter, as they skated to a 4-1 victory over the Blades. Goaltender Braden Holtby made 20 saves on 23 Rebel shots in the loss. The Blades were 0 for 3 on the PP, while the Rebels went 2 for 7 with the man advantage.

Lets Go Blades, go get em 4 d'men
