Blades actually own the right to...

a top prospect in Kyle Turris. Drafted in the 3rd round 2004 by the Blades. Rumor is that he wanted to play for the Giants this year. If the Giants pick him up next season, do they have to trade soemthing to the Blades for his rights?

don't know about that tidball. the blades may have drafted him, dropped him after he decided to go ncaa (wisconsin), and the giants hoping to bolster their chances of winning the memorial cup added him?

word is gillies and turris are good friends, don't know if that would be enough to convince him to come, if indeed the blades do still own his rights. do the blades have him protected on some special list?

i've seen les lazaruk post here maybe he can clear this up. who has turris' rights?

Not Saskatoon as it is listed on some sites. Before that draft, the Blades had traded their 2nd round pick to Vancouver, I dont remember what the deal was, maybe the Brett Jaegar trade but the Blades did not pick Turris.

Its listed on WHL.ca and its in the 3rd round.

According to the Blades website they never drafted Turris. The pick must have been traded prior to the draft

As there is no "direct" link to the Bantam picks section... just go to their site and click on the Blades Draft Picks link and you will discover that in 2004 they didn't draft Turris...
