I took this from the Tips board. Just wanted to make sure these kids knew we were proud of their accomplishemnt.
Everett Jr. Silvertips Bring Home Gold!

It turns out that the Everett Silvertips organization is turning out more than just one great team.
This weekend while the Silvertips were battling the Tri-City Americans, the Everett Junior Silvertips Squirts were competing in the "Desert Classic Hockey Tournament" also in Tri-City.
The team, made up of mostly 9 and 10 year olds, competed against 7 other teams from Tri-City, Spokane, Coeur d'Alene, and Bremerton.
The Jr. Silvertips went 2 for 3 in the preliminary round which qualified them to compete in the semi-finals. After a hard-fought 3-2 win the 'Tips moved on to play in the Championship Game vs. the undefeated Tri-City River Rats.
The 'Tips got out to a comfortable 3-1 lead going into the 3rd period but had to fight off a number of penalties toward the end of the game including a 6 on 3 disadvantage to hang on for the 3-2 Victory.
This marks the 1st time in history that an Everett Youth Hockey Team has brought home a 1st Place medal.
As a proud parent of one of the players and a huge fan of the Silvertips I have to say that hockey in Everett has been the best thing to happen to this town in a very long time.
Congratulations to the Jr. Silvertips!
Now, let's hope the big guys can bring one home too!
