It looks like the Chiefs knotted it all up again. This playoff race is gonna get pretty interesting if this keeps up!!!
what happens if there is a 4th place tie at the end of the regular season? Will there be a one game playoff?

WHL announces tie-breaking procedures

Calgary - The Western Hockey League today announced the Regulations for breaking ties in the final standings at the end of the regular season schedule of games.

A. TIE IN STANDINGS FOR ANY POSITION OTHER THAN THE LAST PLAYOFF POSITION:

1 - The team with the greater number of wins shall receive the higher position in the standings.

2 - If two teams are still tied, the team with the best record in head-to-head competition (based on points earned including overtime losses) shall receive the higher position in the standings.

B. TIE IN STANDINGS FOR THE LAST PLAYOFF POSITION:

1 - Between two teams - A sudden-death game shall be played between the two teams. Home Ice advantage in the sudden-death game will be determined by A) above.

2 - Among three teams - The team with the greatest number of wins shall be declared higher in the standings and will earn a playoff position. A sudden-death game shall be played between the other two teams. Home Ice advantage in the sudden-death game will be determined by A) above


So , it looks like you get your Tie-breaker game if you remain tied. This was originally Written up in March 2003.
