Billsten Named BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week

Calgary - The BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week is forward Curtis Billsten of the Kootenay Ice.

Billsten earned player of the week honours by recording four goals and nine points with a +6 rating in four games during the week of February 5th to February 11th, helping Kootenay to a 3-0-1 record in that span.

On Tuesday, February 6th, Billsten notched a goal and an assist in a 5-1 win over the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes.

On Thursday, February 8th, Billsten scored a goal and added two assists to lead the Ice to an 8-1 road win over the Hurricanes in Lethbridge. He was also named the game's 2nd star.

On Sunday, February 11th, Billsten scored two power play goals, including the game-winner, and added two assists to lead the Ice to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors. He was also named the game's 1st star.

Billsten, a 20-year-old product of Calgary, AB, is in his fourth full season in the WHL, and is a free agent.

The WHL has also nominated Tyson Sexsmith of the Vancouver Giants for the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week award.
