Only a radio recap tonight as I had to work but luckily enough I was able to listen to the radio at the same time.

Game sounded allright, as from the call by Bill and joey the Giants did a very good job limiting the Rockets chances limiting them to only 10 shots on net.

Jung played very well for the rockets and from the radio, 15 year old call-up James henry sounded like he had a great game as well.

Neufeld gets the shut-out on his 20th birthday, happy b-day Blaine.

PS: You are welcome Chilliwack, we'll try and do the same for you Kelowna on Friday. :D

NOTES
Neufeld and Jung got the starts
Giants scratches: Franson (Head) Repik (Head), Bliznak (Knee), Hunt (Leg), Wright (Winter games) Bouma (Winter games), Kane (Suspension)
James Henry and neil manning were the Giants callups
Both teams only dressed 17 skaters
Shots 25-10 Giants
PP's Giants 0/4, Rockets 0/3

GOALS
2. VAN Watt, (30) (Kraus, Mikkelson), 19:25 This comes off the watt shot from a feed from behind the net by Kraus.
3. VAN Wuchterl, (9) (Czibere), 7:53 Turnover at the Giants line, and Czibre feeds Wuchterl behind the rockets D, and he goes in all alone and bags it top shelf.
3. VAN Rabbit, (7) (Lucic, Machacek), 16:00 Missed this goal.

FISTICUFFS
Lucic vs. McEwan
From the radio call sounded like Lucic got the advantage in this one. A long fight that goes around the rockets zone.

OFFICIATING
Savaage tonight and Bill and Joey had little to say about him positive or negative, so thats the word from my internet radio feed.

3 STARS
1. VAN - 11 J.D. Watt
2. KEL - 31 Torrie Jung
3. VAN - 0 James Henry

Nice to see Henry get noticed even though he didn't show up on the scoresheet, kept hearing his name all during the broadcast.

Game recap (http://www.giantsbeat.com/)

Strong performance from Henry tonight. The first period certainly lacked any sort of momentum or energy from either squad.

James Henry looked great out there tonight and certainly earned his star. Very impressive for a 15-year-old to play on a line with two NHL drafted players and not look out of place.

Tough for Kelowna though, they're missing a few regulars due to the Canada Winter Games. Either way, there's less and less chance of the Rockets going to the playoffs and the Giants appear to have the BC title locked up.

Henry looked really good. In fact you could argue he was the best player on the ice for both teams for that matter. He had a few good scoring opportunities and played the body very well. Didn't look out of place at all.

All in all it was a pretty boring game although the game did open up a bit more in the 3rd period. The Giants forechecked very well and ultimately Kelowna couldn't generate any sort of offense. The only real good scoring opportunity they had was by Bernhardt but he ran out of room and Neufeld was able to make an easy save.

The Lucic and McEwan fight wasn't much of a fight at all. Lucic put a solid shoulder check on Colin Joe and McEwan jumped in and they decided to go at it. McEwan was just holding on for the most part, probably because he's already got beaten pretty good twice from Lucic this season. Lucic landed the only punches, maybe four or five lefts and that was that. It's funny though, the Kelowna broadcasters were trying to say Lucic was holding on insinuating he was afraid to open up against McEwan. When in reality it was the exact opposite.
