The Swift Current Broncos failed to stretch their winning streak to three games on Friday night in Medicine Hat when they were shutout by Matt Keetley and the Tigers 3-0 in front of 4,006 fans at the Medicine Hat Arena. Entering the contest riding wins over Prince Albert and Saskatoon the Broncos failed to beat Keetley who stopped all 23 Broncos' shots in his 40th victory of the season.

The Tigers got a first period goal from Chris Stevens and second period goals from Brennan Bosch and Jakub Rumple on their way to their 50th win of the season, tying them with Everett for the most wins in the WHL.

Broncos overage netminder Kyle Moir stopped 24 of 27 Tigers' shots to drop his record to 17-26-0-1.

The 20-year-old Keetley improves his record to 40-10-1-0, only two wins short of the 42 he posted last season. Keetley's sixth shutout of the season is also the third consecutive season that he has posted six shutouts.

It was a quiet night on the scoresheet with only 20 minutes of penalties shared between the two teams. 10 of theose minutes were the result of a first period brawl between Broncos 19-year-old forward Brady Leavold and Tigers agitator Derek Dorsett. The Broncos powerplay was zero for one on the night, while the Tigers failed to score in two opportunities.

The loss drops the Broncos record to 28-34-1-2, but remain three points up on Prince Albert for third place in the East Division after the Raiders lost 8-2 on the road to the Regina Pats.

The win lifts the Tigers record to 50-15-2-0. The Tigers .761 winning percentage trails only Everett for top spot in the WHL.

Saturday the Broncos will be in Kootenay to battle the 44-16-3-3 Ice who sit third in WHL standings with 94 points on the season. The Broncos have lost twice and defeated the Ice once in overtime in the two team's previous three match-ups this season. In there most recent meeting the Broncos lost 7-3 on Nov. 18th in Kootenay.
