'Energy guy' battled through frustrating slump

Back in the fall, an irregular visitor to the Pengrowth Saddledome inadvertently referred to Steve Covington, the Calgary Hitmen forward, as Wes Covington, the former Milwaukee Braves and Philadelphia Phillies outfielder.
For a good chunk of 2005, the blunder didn't seem to matter all that much because both Steve Covington and Wes Covington -- or, for that matter, former Hamilton Tiger-Cats sack-master Grover Covington -- produced the exact same number of Western Hockey League goals. Zip. Nada. Bupkis.
