Festerling Named BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week

Calgary - The BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week is forward Garrett Festerling of the Regina Pats. Festerling earned player of the week honours by scoring three goals and eight points in four playoff games during the week of March 26th to April 1st, helping the Pats win their best-of-seven MNP Eastern Conference Quarter-Final series versus Swift Current four games to two.

On Tuesday, March 27th, Festerling scored a goal and added an assist as the visiting Pats skated to a 5-4 victory over the Broncos in Swift Current in Game 3 of the series.

On Wednesday, March 28th, Festerling notched a goal and added an assist, and was named the game's 3rd star as the Pats defeated the Broncos 5-2 in Swift Current in Game 4 of the series.

On Friday, March 30th, Festerling notched two assists as the Pats fell 3-2 to the visiting Broncos in Game 5 of the series in Regina. He was also named the game's 3rd star.

On Sunday, April 1st, Festerling scored once and set up Brett Leffler's overtime winner as the Pats pulled off a 2-1 extra-frame victory over the Broncos in Swift Current in Game 6 that clinched the Pats the series win.

Festerling, an overage player from Quesnel, B.C., is in his fourth and final WHL season, and is a free agent.
