Toronto - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Medicine Hat Tigers goaltender Matt Keetley is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending April 8, 2007. Keetley posted two playoff victories, including a shutout in the seventh game of the Tigers opening-round series versus the Red Deer Rebels. Keetley allowed only one goal on 53 shots during both games for a .50 goals-against average and a .981 save percentage, while the Tigers lead 1-0 in their second-round match-up versus the Regina Pats.

On Tuesday, April 3rd, Keetley turned aside all 29 shots he faced to record his third shutout of the 2007 playoffs as the Tigers skated to a 2-0 win over the visiting Red Deer Rebels, in the seventh and deciding game of their MNP Eastern Conference Quarter-Final series. Keetley was named the game's 2nd star in the series-clinching win.

On Saturday, April 7th, Keetley stopped 22 of 23 shots he faced to backstop the Tigers to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Regina Pats in game one of their MNP Eastern Conference Semi-Final series.

Keetley, a 20-year-old native of Medicine Hat, AB, is in his fourth and final season with his hometown Tigers.

Ondrej Pavelec of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles was the QMJHL goaltender nominee for the third consecutive week after recording two playoff victories and posting a 1.50 goals against average and a .935 save percentage. Steve Mason of the London Knights was the OHL goaltender nominee after he stopped 65 of 67 shots posting a 1.00 goals against average and a .970 save percentage, leading the Knights to two second-round playoff victories.

Each week the CHL recognizes the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week and will present the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Year Award to the CHL's top netminder at the conclusion of the 2006-07 season.
