WHL To Host U.S. Prospects Camp in Anaheim, California
Created: Apr 11, 2007

Calgary – Ron Robison, Commissioner of the Western Hockey League announced today that the second annual WHL U.S. Prospects Camp will be held in Anaheim, California April 13-15, 2007.

The WHL U.S. Prospects Camp will be held at Anaheim Ice, the official training centre of the NHL Anaheim Ducks and will feature 80 top rated players in the 1992 and 1993 age categories from western United States. The players attending the camp will be evaluated by WHL Clubs in preparation for the WHL Bantam Draft, which will be held in Calgary on May 3, 2007.

This season over 35 U.S.-born players were on the rosters of WHL Clubs including Peter Mueller of the Everett Silvertips (Bloomington, MN), Jonathan Blum of the Vancouver Giants (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA), and Drayson Bowman of the Spokane Chiefs (Littleton, CO).

“The U.S. Camp will provide our Clubs with an opportunity to evaluate the top young U.S. prospects in advance of our WHL Bantam Draft” commented Ron Robison, WHL Commissioner. “It will also allow us to raise awareness of the opportunity players in the U.S. have to play in one of North America’s finest development leagues”.

Last year, 68 players attended the first WHL U.S. Prospects camp in Anaheim.
