City of Kent Sells Multi-Million Dollar Naming Rights for Proposed Events Center to Global Tech Company Amiga
"Amiga Center at Kent" Will Be Most Technologically Advanced Events Center of its Size in the United States

Kent, WA., April 17, 2007 - At a press conference held today at Kent Station, the City of Kent announced that Amiga, the world's premier provider of multi-media enabling technologies, purchased the naming rights for the proposed Kent Events Center through a multi-million dollar sponsorship agreement. The center will be known as the "Amiga Center at Kent." Under this agreement, Amiga's technology will be integrated to make this the most technologically-advanced events center of its size in the United States.

"This is an exciting day for our city," said Kent Mayor Suzette Cooke. "Amiga's investment and commitment to our city will help make Kent a leading technology hub in our region. The "Amiga Center at Kent" will bring tens of thousands of people to the city for events such as Amiga's international developer conferences and for Amiga's new product launches. This partnership will significantly raise the city's profile among a new, much larger, international audience."

Amiga produces and distributes technologies and applications for wired and wireless devices - regardless of operating system or carrier - including cell phones, digital TV, gaming devices, PDAs, smart phones, personal computers, home servers, etc. Amiga was at the forefront of the tech boom in America and today is the third most recognized brand in Europe. Amiga is developing groundbreaking new technologies that will raise its profile in the U.S. over the next few years.
Amiga is a New York based company and its president, Bill McEwen is a local whose family has lived in Kent for more than 30 years.

"As a long-standing resident of this area, I am proud to show the rest of the world what this incredible community has to offer," McEwen said. "Kent is at a pivotal moment in its development. Amiga saw a great opportunity in this city and we believe that over the next few years, the City of Kent will continue its rise, and become a major competitor in the region."

Amiga Technology Investment Holds Potential to Radically Alter Events Center Experience
The "Amiga Center at Kent" will be a launch platform for new and innovative Amiga technologies. The facility will have the capacity to bring technologic advancements that will alter the fan experience by dramatically enhancing the interaction between a visitor and the sport or event. For example the "Amiga Center at Kent" will have the technology in place allowing event-goers to watch instant replays on a handheld device and to order, pay for and have food delivered using only a cell phone. If this technology is implemented, Thunderbirds' fans will be able to enjoy a closer connection with the game and its players by accessing real-time statistical updates and engaging in digital interactions with players. In addition, Amiga technology could streamline ticket sales for all "Amiga Center at Kent" events.

The "Amiga Center at Kent" will incorporate Amiga's straightforward approach to technology to benefit everyone who visits the center; the simplicity of Amiga's technology would allow it to work no matter the brand of wireless device.

"This is part of the simplicity and accessibility of Amiga," explains McEwen. "All of our products are designed to be easy to use and available to everyone, regardless of brand or service provider."

Thunderbirds' Fan Experience will be Unmatched at the Amiga Center at Kent
Amiga was especially interested in the events center proposed for Kent because the city had secured the Seattle Thunderbirds as its anchor tenant.

"Thunderbirds' fans are known to be loyal and engaged, the perfect audience to try and embrace new technologies," said Russ Farwell, President and General Manager of the Seattle Thunderbirds. "These technologies will contribute to the overall fan experience, providing interactive opportunities that add entertainment value to a Thunderbirds' game."

Multi-million Dollar Investment Helps Close Funding Gap; State Support Still Pending
This announcement provides an unexpected funding opportunity and offers further momentum for the project. The City of Kent has committed financing that will cover two-thirds or more of the total cost of this facility, which will transform the community and the region while creating several hundred family-wage jobs and generating an estimated $50 million in tax revenues for the State of Washington over the next 30 years. Further funding potential will be known by the end of this legislative session on April 22, when it will be determined if the "Amiga Center at Kent" will become a Public Facilities District.

The proposed "Amiga Center at Kent" will provide an abundance of family-focused opportunities for recreation and enjoyment, as well as a sound economic investment for the city. A broad range of events including holiday bazaars, arts and crafts fairs, concerts, car and truck shows, high school graduations, gymnastic tournaments, home and garden shows and the Western Hockey League's Seattle Thunderbirds will all have a home at the "Amiga Center at Kent."
