Toronto - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that forward Wacey Rabbit of the Vancouver Giants is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending April 22, 2007. Rabbit scored four goals and one assist for five points in two playoff games, leading the Giants to two consecutive victories over the Prince George Cougars in the 2007 Kal Tire Western Conference Championship best-of-seven series.

On Friday, April 21st, Rabbit notched an assist on the game-winning goal as the Giants defeated the visiting Cougars 3-2 in Game 1 of the Kal Tire Western Conference Championship Series. The following night, Rabbit scored a career high four goals, including the game-winner, and was named the game’s 1st star as the Giants defeated the visiting Cougars 6-2 in Game 2 of the series. Three of Rabbit’s four goals were scored on the power play.

Pierre-Luc Faubert of the Lewiston MAINEiacs was the QMJHL nominee after he scored four goals and two assists for six points in two playoff games. Michal Neuvirth of the Plymouth Whalers was the OHL nominee after posting a 1.00 goals against average and a .970 save percentage in two playoff games.
