Three Tips Listed on Final NHL Central Scouting Rankings
Hamill, Ellington and Vartovnik Listed by Central Scouting

Everett, WA - Three Everett Silvertips made the list on the final draft rankings released by NHL Central Scouting on Thursday, April 25. Silvertips forwards Zach Hamill, Lukas Vartovnik and defenseman Taylor Ellington were among the 210 North American skaters listed by the NHL Central Scouting Service. Zach Hamill jumped to the top ten on the list at 9th, Ellington ranked at 39th while Vartovnik was listed at 180th. All three will be eligible for the 2007 NHL Entry Draft in Columbus, Ohio on June 22 and 23.
Silvertips forward Zach Hamill, who led the WHL in scoring during the 2006-2007 regular season jumped from No. 22 in January to No. 9 in the final rankings. The Port Coquitlam, BC native recorded 32 goals and a league high 61 assists for 93 points in 69 games for the Silvertips this season. Hamill earned first team Western Conference All-Star honors this season and became the first Silvertip to win the Bobby Clarke Trophy as the WHL's leading scorer. Zach is currently the all time leading scorer in Silvertips franchise history with 187 points and took part in the 2006 ADT Canada/Russia Challenge and the 2007 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.
Silvertips defenseman Taylor Ellington cracks the Top 50 of the rankings by being listed at No. 39 by NHL Central Scouting. The Victoria, BC native played in 60 games this season for the Silvertips and added 5 goals and 8 assists for 13 points. Ellington also maintained a plus/minus rating of +5 during the regular season. Taylor also participated in the 2006 ADT Canada/Russia Challenge and the 2007 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.
Lukas Vartovnik was drafted by the Everett Silvertips in the 1st Round (38th overall) in the 2006 CHL Import Draft last summer. The Gelnica, Slovakia native finished his first season in the WHL with 11 goals and 8 assists for 19 points in 58 games. During the 2007 WHL Playoffs, Vartovnik chipped in a goal and 2 assists for 3 points in 10 playoff games. In the summer of 2006, Lukas suited up for Team Slovakia at the 2006 Under-18 World Cup.
