Calgary, AB – Ron Dube, Director of Scouting for the Kootenay ICE Hockey Club today announced Left Winger Drew Czerwonka (Zer-wonka) has been selected 20th overall by the club in the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft. The 18th annual WHL Bantam Draft began at 8:30 am today in Calgary and is for players born in 1992 and playing in the four Western Provinces and selected regions of the United States.

“Czerwonka is a Left Winger with great size and movement and who has the strong values and leadership skills that the Kootenay ICE organization prides itself on,” commented Dube. “He led his team, the Prairie Storm AA, to a Provincial Title this past year and has many attributes that will compliant the ICE organization.”

Czerwonka becomes the twelfth first round draft pick in the history of the ICE franchise.
