Kassian's a great kid, but this is a waste of money, IMO. Hasn't improved at all since he was about 17. Limitations galore.

Way to go Matt! I give him credit, I'd cash a NHL cheque any way I could too.
Besides the owners deserve everything they get. :D

Great classy kid, but he is a dinosaur from days gone by. Don't know how much use there is for a player like him. Enforcers like Lucic and agitators/pests who fight like Dorsett are the wave of the future.

Still, I hope he manages a career of some sort and gets some of that fat NHL cash.

He is the Dave Semenko type of the 2000's and not a needed commodity. Big, tough, mean and very very slow skater in an ever quicking pace of play style of hockey. Sorry but I see a 1 way ECHL contract written all over this one. Good thing he is a scholastic type person ..he'll try the university route hockey but doubt he will make that non fighting league as well. Take your 3 yrs paid university in Canada and run with it .. Good luck Matt

A lot of people (including me) said the same thing about Derek Boogaard and his 22pts in 4 seasons, but look where he is now.

He is the Dave Semenko type of the 2000's and not a needed commodity.

It's still needed, but the brains (or lack there of) in the NHL front office feel as though less fighting equals more fans and better hockey for whatever reason. Go figure.

Either way it won't hurt having a guy like Kassian playing for either Texas or Houston to protect some of the young Wild prospects.
