Thunderbirds' Assistant Coach Resigns

SEATTLE, May 15, 2007 — The Seattle Thunderbirds today announced Assistant Coach Blake Knox resigned his position with the T-Birds to pursue career options outside of hockey.

Knox was an assistant coach with the T-Birds for the past three seasons, joining the team in the summer of 2004.

Knox, 35, played five years in the WHL, from 1988-1993. He played three seasons with the Swift Current Broncos (1988-91) and two seasons with the Thunderbirds (1991-93). In his WHL career Knox played 350 games amassing 302 points on 132 goals and 170 assists with 921 penalty minutes. In his two seasons in Seattle, Knox played in 133 games scoring 144 points on 49 goals and 95 assists with 480 penalty minutes.

The T-Birds search for a new assistant coach will begin immediately.
