George Bowditch of the Prairie Post put some questions to Coach Dean:
George mentioned that last year we drafted goaltender Eric Ferber in the American Bantam Draft and there is some talk of Ferber attending Notre Dame College in Wilcox this year. Dean says we don't know that and he is doubtful at this point but they have not said a definite "no". He does say Ferber is exploring a few options.
George then asks the question about the expansion draft slated for June 5th. Dean responds we submit the list the morning of June 5th by 9 a.m. and the draft has to be done by 4 o'clock. Each team only looses 1 player.
George asks if we are taking part in the Euro draft. Dean says we will and are compiling a list and will shorten the list once into June and closer to the N.H.L. draft. This will give us a better clarification on who is coming and who is not. He states this years Euro draft is very weak for 88/89 players and there is a good possibility of us drafting a 17 year-old.
George poses the question that we already have two Euro's so can we still take part in the draft. Dean responds that because Rako's is an overage, he rolls into a frozen list. We have the option of drop him. There is no need to drop him because we can still participate and take one more player. Then we have three European players and then have to make a decision come training camp.
