From CHL.ca:

Medicine Hat secures spot in Tie-Braker
The Medicine Hat Tigers secured a spot in at least the Tie-Braker game after defeating the Plymouth Whalers 4-1 in game four of the 2007 MasterCard Memorial Cup Tournament in front of 12,601 fans assembled at Pacific Coliseum. "

No, a fifth grader writes it, but a third grader proof reads it.

My guess is a rushed CHL staffer with a typing mistake and then spell checker to the rescue that isn't smart enough to figure out the context and put the correct word in.

Go Microsoft!

I almost expect to see those kinds of errors on MySpace and the like (that's pretty sad in itself)... someone that does that twice in one paragraph shouldn't be allowed near a keyboard in any kind of professional capacity.

You sure it wasn't someone from Vancouver? We have some of the worst radio hosts & some of the beat writers are idiots as well. Perfect example is from the Province May 16th, they had a pullout section on the Mem Cup. Gord McIntyre wrote an article on the Giants..."Vancouver team aims to be the host with the most". This is what he wrote..."When he arrived last season he took a four-year old franchise to the Memorial Cup and was a Game 7 overtime goal away from his club winning the WHL again this season".

Ya, real bright!
