McCambridge named ECHL Aces coach

Former Swift Current Broncos defenseman Keith McCambridge has been named the head coach of the Alaska Aces of the East Coast Hockey League.

McCambridge was a stay at home defenseman for the Broncos from 1991-95 who played in 261 games, scored six goals and racked up 480 penalty minutes. McCambridge was a member of the 1992/93 Western Hockey League championship Broncos team.

He was dealt to Kamloops in 1995 along with Ashley Buchberger for Jeff Henkleman, Jeremy Rondeau, and Cam Severson. The Blazers would go on to win the Memorial Cup led by Shane Doan, Darcy Tucker, Hnat Domenichelli, and Jerome Iginla.

McCambridge was drafted in the eighth round of the National Hockey League Entry Draft in 1994, 201st overall by the Calgary Flames. He went on to a lengthy career in the AHL and IHL making numerous stops along the way.

McCambridge is a former captain of the Aces who he played for from 2003-06 and also served as a player/coach and a full-time assistaint coach this season.
