The Prince Albert Raiders have selected Tomas Voracek in the first round of the CHL Import Draft Wednesday.
Voracek has played for both the Czech Under-16 and Under-17 national teams.
He defenceman appeared in 38 games for the junior Vitkovice Steel last season and scored three goals and eight assists.
The Raiders selected another Import later today.

At #19, Prince Albert picks 6'2" Czech defenceman Tomas Voracek. He'll be 17
next year and eligible for the 2008 NHL draft. Last year he played 38 games
for Vitkovice in the Czech U-20 league, recording 3g-8a with 46 PIM. He also
got into 4 games in the Czech premier mens league for Vitkovice, which seems
unbelievable considering he was only 16.
