PATS SELECT CERVENY 37th OVERALL

The Regina Pats have made their 1st round draft pick in the 2007 CHL Import Draft, selecting centre Rudolf Cerveny with the 37th overall selection.

Cerveny (6’0”, 180lbs), a native of the Czech Republic, spent this past season with Ceske Budejovice. In 45 games played, Cerveny collected 20 goals and 20 assists for 40 points. He is described as a skilled centreman, with good vision and a great hockey sense.

"We really wanted to get a centre if at all possible; all our reports indicate that he is a skilled player with good vision. He was recommended to us by one of our former players, Karel Mosovsky, who feels that he will fit the WHL game very well" described Regina Pats General Manager Brent Parker following the selection.

The Regina Pats are also slated to select in the 2nd round of the Import Draft later this afternoon.
