KENNEWICK, WA - The Tri-City Americans are proud to start their celebration of 20 years of hockey in the Tri-Cities with a new, unique logo being unveiled today. With the start of the upcoming season, the Americans will become the 13th team of the current 22-team Western Hockey League to have called one city home for 20+ years.

The new logo was crafted in the shape of a shield, while utilizing the Americans' red, white and blue color schemes. The commemorative logo also pays tribute to the 1988-89 team that first paved the way for hockey in the Mid-Columbia. Enclosed in the shield, the Americans have incorporated the team's original black and gold color scheme, along with the three-star design. The logo will be used as the team's primary logo for the upcoming 2007-08 season.

"We are excited to enter a new season with a new commemorative logo recognizing our history," said Americans General Manager and Governor, Bob Tory. "This year we can honor our past and look forward to the future. All fans, alumni, current players and staff can enjoy a season reflecting on 20 years of friendships and memories that are special to us all."

The logo will be integrated into the team's website, AmsHockey.com, in the coming weeks, as well as on team merchandise and the Toyota Center ice floor for the upcoming season.
