Brandon, Manitoba -- The Brandon Wheat Kings' Alumni Association, in conjunction with the Western Hockey League club, has announced plans to host a Special Barbecue next month, in an effort to raise money for the hockey club's Athletic Trainer Rob Stouffer.
The Bud, Spud and Steak Barbecue will be held from 5 - 9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 14th in the Great Western Road House Bar and Grill at Canad Inns Brandon.
Tickets are $15 each, with profits from the evening to be donated to the popular Wheat King trainer to help cover expenses as he recovers from cancer treatment.
Stouffer was diagnosed with liver cancer this past February and is currently undergoing treatment in Winnipeg.
Since joining the Wheat Kings in 2000, Stouffer has emerged as one of the most respected trainers in Canadian major junior hockey.
Tickets are available at the Wheat Kings' office, by calling 726-3535 or from any of the Alumni Executive. The Executive includes Jeff Lawson, Wayne Wilhelm, Mark Kolesar, Ken Schneider and Wheat Kings' general manager and head coach Kelly McCrimmon
