David Piland Charity Golf Tournament
Seattle, August 1, 2007 - David Piland, the booming public address voice of the Everett Silvertips, has been courageously battling Stage 4 Glioblastoma, a terminal form of brain cancer. Since being diagnosed in October 2005, David has undergone two major brain surgeries and several rounds of radiation and chemotherapy.

Dave got his start as a hockey public address announcer in the WHL with the Thunderbirds. Dave, or DVD (for Deep Voice Dave) as he was known to some fans, was a public address announcer with the T- Birds for several years before the joining the Tips in their inaugural season in 2003.

The Piland family has organized a charity golf tournament and auction to support Dave at Snohomish Golf Course on Friday, August 10, at noon.
The T-Birds would like to encourage all their fans to take part in this golf tournament and auction. It will be a great way to get in one last round of golf before the start of WHL Training Camps while also supporting a great father and friend. The T-Birds will be supplying items for the auction, including a night in a KeyArena suite for a T-Birds-Silvertips game this season, that fans of both teams can bid on.

To register for the golf tournament go to www.davidpiland.com and download a registration form.
