The Everett Silvertips in their 2nd year in the WHL reach the Western Hockey League Playoffs for the 2nd straight season with a 6-2 victory over the Spokane Chiefs on Wednesday night at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.

Also for the 2nd straight season the youthful Silvertips with thirteen first-year players and nine draft picks from the 2003 WHL Bantam Draft reached the 30 win plateau. Last season the Silvertips picked up 35 victories in their record breaking expansion season. The Silvertips have a big weekend ahead of them with three pivotal games against their U.S. Division rivals. On Friday night, the I-5 Rivalry continues as the Seattle Thunderbirds battle the Silvertips at the Everett Events Center. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. The Everett Events Center will be loud and crazy once again on Saturday night when the Portland Winter Hawks march into town to face off against the Silvertips in a battle for home ice advantage for their first round playoff series at 7:05 p.m. On Sunday the Silvertips roll their way to the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon to battle the Hawks once again in the second game of the home-and-home series. The puck drops at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday night.
