Lethbridge, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings may even consider them selves a little lucky to get out of Lethbridge with their first shoot out victory in franchise history. Rookie Brent Raedeke scored in the dying seconds of regulation and fellow rookie Shayne Neigum scored the shoot out winner in Edmonton's stunning 4 - 3 win.
It was quite a night for Raedeke who finished with a goal and 2 helpers. The game tying goal came with just 4 seconds left to go in regulation. Yet another rookie, Tomas Vincour also finished with a 3 point night. (2 goals and an assist) Carter Bancks, Dan Iwanski and Yashar Farmanara scored for the Hurricanes in regulation. It was actually quite an even game all the way through with the shots standing at 34 apiece through 60 minutes of play.
Alex Archibald started the game in goal for the Oil Kings but it was Dalyn Flette who provided the heroics in the shoot out for the visitors. Oil Kings leading scorer Craig McCallum and Neigum found the back of the net in the shootout. Iwanski was the only Hurricane to beat Flette in the showdown. The Oil Kings wrap up the pre-season schedule with a winning record of 4 and 3.
