From the Thunderbirds. A 17 year old with decent size (6'1" and 185), plays center. If I remember correctly good hands, OK speed, needs to work on the physical play. Could be a nice pick up for the Pats. Might be able to move into the 4th line center position to add a bit of size and scoring punch.

With the injury to Ofukany, I would really like to see Strueby move up to play with Kraus and Cerveny. Might be an interesting line.

With the addition of Hanson we now have a whole line who played with the Pat Cs last season Mitchell, Strueby and now Hanson...

Pats Acquire Cody Hanson


PATS ACQUIRE CODY HANSON

Regina, Saskatchewan – Tuesday, October 2nd, the Regina Pats announced this morning that they have made a trade that sees them acquire Cody Hanson. In return the Seattle Thunderbirds will receive a conditional Bantam Draft pick in 2009.

Hanson, the native of Regina, SK, who was originally drafted in 1st round of the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft, 16th overall by the Thunderbirds. Hanson, played last season with the Regina Pat Canadians of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA League where he recorded 16 goals and 26 assists in 42 games. So far this season, Hanson has dressed in three games with the Thunderbirds and has been held off the score sheet.

“We see Cody as a young guy with lots of potential and we are happy to be bringing him home to Regina” commented Pats General Manager Brent Parker.

The Pats next home game will be Friday, October 5th when the Red Moose Jaw Warriors will be in town to square off with the Pats at the Brandt Centre. Game time will be 7:00pm.
