Brandon, Manitoba -- Veteran Brandon Wheat Kings' defenceman Theran Yeo underwent successful arthoscopic surgery on his right knee Monday afternoon in Winnipeg, the Western Hockey League club has announced.

A 20-year old native of Prince Albert, Yeo injured his knee during the club's annual Intrasquad game last month and is expected to remain out of action for the next two to three weeks.

A 4-year WHL veteran, Yeo is one of four overage players currently on the Wheat Kings' roster, joining Mark Louis, Tyler Dittmer and captain Daryl Boyle. Western Hockey League clubs are permitted to carry three.

Chosen Brandon's Most Community Minded Player last season, the 6'1” 220 lb. Yeo played in 55 games last winter, scoring 2 goals, 13 points and leading the club with 164 penalty minutes. In 158 career games, Yeo has scored 5 goals, 29 points and accumulated 362 minutes in penalties.

Back home, the Wheat Kings returned to the practice ice Monday in preparation for their first overnight road trip of the 2007-08 campaign. Brandon will be in Lethbridge on Saturday night to meet the Hurricanes, before travelling to Cranbrook, B.C. on Sunday for a date with the Kootenay Ice.

Brandon's next home game is Friday, October 12th against the visiting Prince George Cougars.
