Americans Win Battle of the Division's Best

KENNEWICK, WA - The Tri-City Americans home opener started with fireworks and ended with fireworks of a different kind.
Only 51 seconds into overtime, TJ Fast beat Spokane's Kevin Armstrong to give the Tri-City Americans (6-1-0-0, 12 pts) a 4-3 victory over the Spokane Chiefs (3-1-1-0, 7 pts) in a battle of the division's top two teams. Kruise Reddick maintained his position as the League's top scorer with a two-point night and Chet Pickard stopped 23 of 26 shots in the win.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs dropped their second straight contest, after breezing through the pre-season with an undefeated record and winning their first three games of the regular season. The two teams will meet in Spokane tomorrow, Saturday, October 6 for Spokane's home opener. You can catch all the action live, via WHL WebTV at Kimo's Sports Cafe or R.F. McDougalls in Richland.
