CALGARY, AB. - The BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week is forward Tyler Dittmer of the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Dittmer picked up five goals, two assists and was plus four, in the two games during the week of October 1st through to October 8th, helping the Wheat Kings to a 2-0 record in that span.

On Saturday, October 6th, at the Enmax Centre in Lethbridge, Dittmer recorded the Hat Trick, potting three third period goals to lead the Wheat Kings to a 5-2 victory over the Hurricanes.

On Thanksgiving Sunday, October 7th, Dittmer was in on every goal, recording two goals and two assists, in the Wheat Kings 4-3 win over the home Team Kootenay Ice.

The two road victories push the 5-1-0 Wheat Kings to within one point of the Swift Current Broncos for first place in the WHL East Division, with two games in hand.

Dittmer, a 20-year-old product from Brandon, MB is in his third full season playing for the Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League. A former Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League Champion, Dittmer was a member of the 2004 National Champion Brandon Midget Wheat Kings.

The WHL has also nominated Dan Spence of the Calgary Hitmen for the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week award.

Dittmer and the Wheat Kings returned home Monday and will practice Tuesday afternoon in preparation for this weekend's two games at Westman Place. Brandon will host Prince George on Friday night and Kootenay on Saturday. Tickets for both games are on sale now at the Keystone box office, by calling 726-3555 or online at ticketmaster.ca
