Strange... if he reports to the team, it will pretty much be a slap in Chilliwack's face.

Really?

Well maybe he'll put more effort in with the Giants. He was a good player for the Bruins but his effort wasn't good. Maybe Hay will get him going.

Is he definitely going to play?

You would think the Giants would of added Farmanara ahead of Petkau. He's a better player and is also local.

They might not of known the Farmanara was released, and wanted to grab Petkau. Who knows.

Petkau adds more depth at right wing, which is always nice.
Any word on whether or not he will play though?

Here's the release from www.vancouvergiants.com (http://www.vancouvergiants.com/home.html)

The Vancouver Giants have added 20 year-old forward Ken Petkau (left) to their player protected list. Petkau was acquired by the Giants through the Western Hockey League's 20 Year-Old Cutdown Draft Thursday.

The 6'1, 195lbs right winger most recently played for the Chilliwack Bruins. In 55 games last year, the product of Surrey, BC had 24 goals and 18 assists for the Bruins.

Over the past five seasons Petkau has also spent time with the Red Deer Rebels and Lethbridge Hurricanes.

"Ken is a player we feel can bring some extra scoring to our line-up," says Giants General Manager Scott Bonner. "He was a big reason the Bruins made the playoffs as an expansion club last season and we hope he can have a solid finish to his WHL career with our organization."

According to Don Hay this morning on NW, he will not be in the lineup for tonight's game & maybe not at all. Scott Bonner is trying to get him to come to Vancouver, but nothing is for sure. Hay believes that he will be here at some time, but also said that if he doesn't come, then oh well. Basically, they just go with the team they already have.

If there is a legitament reason why Petkau left Chilliwack it can be understandable, different from Starkov being a little *****.
