First post here...hopefully it isn't one that has been discussed to death.
Just curious where they are at as of now on the Multiplex issue and when they expect it to come to fruitation?
What is the favoured location among Moose Javians for the Multiplex? Personally I think that the best and most obvious spot would be downtown because of the economic spinoffs that would be created. Moose Jaw already has such a neat downtown and adding a project of this magnitude would make it that much better. The Spa/Casino anchors the east side of downtown and the Multiplex would potentially create the same sort of benefits on the west side.
The current Civic site wouldn't be bad, but there are obviously not as many benefits to having it there. Plus, I would think that that piece of land may be potentially sold for a decent amount of money.
The site on Thatcher offers nothing and shouldn't even be considered in my mind. The only benefits would be ample parking, but in a city the size of MJ traffic isn't really an issue. Plus having it downtown would ecourage people to find other modes of transportation to the game.
I'm not from MJ myself but have taken an interest in the project due to my background in urban geography/urban planning.
