I know some people want to be positive and there is nothing wrong with that. However, if this team has good coaching behind the bench its probably 3 games above .500. Its not just the game coaching but the coaching during practices that developes good game habits and this is sorely missing. This is year 3 not week 4. Reality check is needed. Those dumb mistakes during the game are from sloppy practice habits that after 2.5 years have not been corrected and kabyama has not helped one dam bit ( our power play has all this talent yet its at the bottom of the league, isn't kabyama suppose to be a power play specialist or what)????

Sounds like they needed a sheet of plywood to stop some of those goals! Must be tough on everybody. I hope the mood on the team doesn't deteriorate too much . . . now is the time to look at all the positives and to improve where improvement is most needed . . . did I mention the defense? The opponents are not getting that many shots . . . yes, our goalies are on their way to having the worst stats in the league (once again) . . . and I don't think they are that bad . . . we need more skill on defense . . . a decent twenty year old would look good back there. I've heard people say that Roy is trying to make Dyck look bad . . . I think it is Roy that is looking bad . . . most of us have been recognizing that our D is too weak for a long time . . . and we are not professional hockey people!

you have to hope things will turn around , because you know that Mcnaughton aint gonna fire his best buddy dyck and company so where does that leave our fine young lads, on their way out of town( trade wise) to try and bolster a failing team................ and for people that come on here and say there is to much negativity, this way of thinking is what allowed 5 year of maxwell hockey , which we all know was a total f@cken mess.........as always .......GO CANES GO.................... :thumb:

I never see the Canes practises...but if any of you have, what are the coaches NOT doing during practise? I went to a Leafs practise last yr for fun while I was in Toronto for a week, and Paul Maurice practised 3 on 2's, 3 on 1's, 2 on 1's, etc for 45 minutes straight at a FAST pace. This is a type of drill that Med Hat appears to have worked on a lot, while the Canes are more selfish and uncomfortable passing the puck around, especially through traffic. The Canes seem to excel at just passing it around the perimeter/boards, but sadly the net isn't in that path.

If the Board isnt gonna fire Dyck or Stasiuk (both guys seem to have a strong supporter or two on the Board of Directors), why not get rid of the Asst coaching staff and bring in some fresh ones? Dyck seems like a decent head coach who could get a boost with some better coaches working next to him, some who have coached/played in the WHL or NHL before (and know how to set up a PP at this level). :D Could make that small difference that this team needs!
