SILVERTIPS SIGN FIRST-ROUND PICK DOYLE

Everett, WA – March 14, 2005: Everett Silvertips VP/General Manager Doug Soetaert has officially announced the signing of Defenseman Eric Doyle to a WHL agreement with the Everett Silvertips. Doyle was selected by the Silvertips in the first round (15th Overall) in the 2004 WHL Bantam Draft. This season for the Calgary Buffaloes of the Alberta Midget Hockey League, the Calgary, Alberta native led his team in defensemen scoring with 9 goals and 20 assists for 29 points in 34 games as a 15 year old.

“We are very excited to have Eric become part of the Everett Silvertips Organization,” mentions Silvertips VP/General Manager, Doug Soetaert. “We feel Eric will be a cornerstone to our blue line during his junior career.”

The Silvertips have also signed Defenseman Keegan Bourelle, Forward Mitch Wall and Forward Matt Meropoulis to WHL agreements.

Bourelle the Silvertips 2nd Round (27th Overall) draft pick in the 2004 WHL Bantam Draft posted 4 goals and 6 assists in 38 games for the North Battleford Stars of the Saskatchewan Midget Triple-A Hockey League. Wall the Silvertips 5th Round (93rd Overall) selection in last years Bantam Draft, tallied 3 goals and 8 assists in 36 games for the North Battleford Stars.

Meropoulis was selected by the Silvertips in the 7th Round (133rd Overall) in the 2004 Bantam Draft. The Edmonton, Alberta native played for the Knights of Columbus Pats of the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League this season.
