The roster for Team Pacific (joint B.C. /Alberta entry) should be announced in the next few days. You can see the shortlists for B.C. and Alberta for an idea of who might make that team. Each province provides 11 players.

It took a few days longer than I thought it would, but former WHL goalie David Reekie has indeed landed in the OHL. He was picked up yesterday by the Windsor Spitfires as part of an overhaul of the Spits' goaltending. The good news for Reekie is that Plymouth is one of the top contenders in the OHL this year; the bad news is that the Spitfires also acquired goalie Michal Neuvirth from the Plymouth Whalers in a trade yesterday, and Neuvirth will very likely be the new #1 goalie there since he is one of the best in the OHL and has Memorial Cup experience from last year with the Whalers. So, Reekie may be looking at the backup job behind Neuvirth - but the Spits also still have another goalie, Andrew Engelage, who has played almost all their games so far this year. Oh, and they also have three other overagers still, but the OHL has different overage rules which don't require them to get down to three until January 10 - although only three can play per game. So, there's obviously some roster juggling to be done there yet and we'll have to wait and see when Reekie gets to play and how he does.

Oil Kings defenceman Cameron Cepek has made a smooth switch from wheels to blades.

From the NHL: forget the flashy Italian wheels or the intimidating Hummers which many of his fellow NHLers drive. No, Sharks rookie Devin Setoguchi is getting around San Jose in a rented Toyota Corolla. "Twenty bucks a day", he brags.
