Abney to play tonight (Sunday)

Just got word that 16-year-old forward Cameron Abney has been called up for tonight's game at Chilliwack. Abney, a big strong kid who was Everett's final cut before the start of the season, has been playing for the North Delta Ice of the junior B PIJHL, where in 20 games he has five goals, eight assists and 88 penalty minutes. Abney's presence probably means neither Dan Gendur nor Zack Dailey will be able to go tonight, and I have no idea whether Abney will accompany the team to Kamloops for Tuesday's game.
Well, I'm off to Chilliwack.
6:50 p.m. UPDATE
Apparently Abney will remain with the team when it heads to Kamloops following for Tuesday's game against the Blazers. He's scheduled to skate on a line with Zach Hamill and Kyle Beach tonight, at least to start, so he's getting thrown right into the fire.
By the way, it's absolutely freezing here at Prospera Centre. I hope my nose doesn't fall off before the game ends.
