Rebels Acquire Esposito From Spokane

The Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club announced today they have acquired 18-year old forward Cody Esposito from the Spokane Chiefs in exchange for 18-year old forward Luke Betts.

hopefully the move will get esposito going...has the size to fill the power forward role...sat out his 16 yo season with shoulder injury suffered just before camp....will drop 'em whenever......never consistent enough to dress every nite

With Betts you are getting a smallish checker with literally no offensive instincts, but pretty good wheels and a tendency to be irritating to opponents. Not really a willing scrapper, but he will go if he has to. The emergence of younger players that were playing Bett's style but better, like Krgovich, just made him expendable in Red Deer.

Just noticed on the WHL website that Red Deer has made another trade. Is there anyone left to turn off the lights? What's with the mass exodus out of Red Deer? Wasn't Betts already traded elsewhere?

I think the same things were said about David Rutherford... :confused:

Maybe, but Rutherford had far more offensive output (on paper alone) in his first season, than Betts has had in 2 seasons and change.
