Blades Lose More Than Game in Moose Jaw

Thursday, 22 November 2007
Tack on another injury to the Saskatoon Blades after last night's 3-1 loss in Moose Jaw.

Rookie right winger Kevin Philp suffered a broken jaw in the second of last night's two game-opening fights when he took a solid shot from Warriors' winger Ryley Grantham. Philp underwent oral surgery overnight and is out indefinitely. The loss was the fourth straight for the Bridge City Bunch, during which they have scored just five goals. Walker Wintoneak scored the lone goal for the 8-16-1 Blades while Riley Holzapfel, Jordan Knackstedt and Joel Broda tallied for Moose Jaw, who ended a seven-game winless streak. Saskatoon opens a home-and-home series against Prince Albert tomorrow night at 7:05 at Credit Union Centre. It's the first regular season meeting between the Central Saskatchewan arch-rivals. The return match goes Saturday at 7:30 at Art Hauser Centre
