Eric Doyle Named BOSTON PIZZA 'Fan's Choice' WHL Player of the Week

CALGARY, AB. - The BOSTON PIZZA ‘Fan’s Choice’ WHL Player of the Week, as voted on by WHL fans, is defenseman Eric Doyle of the Swift Current Broncos.

Doyle netted four goals and was plus two in the two games played, during the week of November 12th through to November 18th, helping the Raiders to a 2-0 record in that span.

On Friday, November 16th the Broncos hosted WHL East Division rivals the Brandon Wheat Kings in the newly renovated Credit Union i-plex. Doyle scored the game winner as Swift Current defeated the Wheat Kings 4-1.

On Sunday, November 18th the Saskatoon Blades rolled into Swift Current to face the Broncos. Doyle exploded offensively in the divisional contest scoring three times as the Broncos downed the Blades 4-1. He was also named the games 1st Star.

Doyle, an 18 year old from Calgary, Alberta, is currently in his third full season of play in the Western Hockey League starting with the Everett Silvertips in 2005, before joining the Broncos half way through last season. Doyle is eligible for selection at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft this coming June in Ottawa, Ontario.
