BLAZERS ACQUIRE WASDEN FROM TIGERS
KAMLOOPS, BC Today the Kamloops Blazers and Medicine Hat Tigers completed a trade in which the Blazers acquired 19-year-old forward Scott Wasden along with a 7th round selection in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft from the Tigers in exchange for 18-year-old forward Travis Dunstall.
Scott is a veteran WHL player with plenty of playoff and Memorial Cup experience who has been on a proven winner throughout his junior career, says Assistant Coach Andrew Milne. We are expecting Scott to provide leadership and a winning attitude to our team.
At the same time, it is difficult to part company with an individual like Travis and we wish him nothing but success in a new role in Medicine Hat, says Milne.
Wasden, a 61, 190-pound centre from Westbank, is expected to be in the Blazer lineup on Friday in Kelowna.
